According to U.N. Statistics – In Ecuador:

There are over 230,000-orphaned children.
Of those, less than 35 are adopted each year.
60% of the children live in poverty.
Children are being abandoned and mistreated in record numbers.

Psalm 82:3 "Give ear to the cause of the poor and the children without fathers; let those who are troubled and in need have their rights". La Esperanza Children's Homes is responding to this call. We opened our first home with full government approval in July 2008. We stared with 8 children, and currently are caring for 51 children in 2 homes. La Esperanza is part of the Family Heath Foundation, which has been faithfully serving Cuenca since 1988.
“La Esperanza” exists to:

Rescue children at risk.
Provide quality medical, emotional, academic, and spiritual care for our children.
Build a high quality model for children’s homes.
Work with the government, corporate, social and religious groups for the welfare of our children
